Le Domaine de La Millasserie - Gay Dordogne Bed and Breakfast

La Millasserie, a gay-owned B&B with pool, is located in the heart of the Dordogne, the ancient province of the Perigord. Our spacious rooms offer a king-sized bed, dining table, comfortable chairs, and armoire and chest of drawers. Each room has an ensuite bath, private terrace, private entrance, and easy access to the pool.

A vacation at La Millasserie offers easy access to the best of the Dordogne: great architecture, great French cuisine, music, art, and antiques, the world of pre-history, and a variety of sports, including cycling, hiking, canoing, and boat trips on the Dordogne. La Millasserie is 20 minutes from the Bergerac airport and it is an easy drive to the many medieval towns,villages and cities of the region including to Sarlat,Beynac, Domme, Monpazier, Les Eyzies and the world of pre-history, and to all the chateaux of the Perigord.

La Millasserie is for adults only. Parking, and wi-fi connection is free. Pets are welcome with prior arrangement.

Your hosts are Alain Pioton and Byrne Fone, who met in the USA in 1978.

Alain, from Bordeaux, opened Alain Pioton Antiques, in 1982 in Hudson, New York. His was the first antiques shop in Hudson and for more than two decades he sourced antiques in France.

Byrne, Professor at the City University of New York, taught 18th Century English and 19th century American Literature and offered one of the first courses in Gay Studies taught in the US. He has written several books in that field including The Columbia Anthology Of Gay Literature (Columbia University Press) and Homophobia: A History (Holt/Picador). He is the author of four novels including Achilles: A Gay Love Story, and American Revolution, a detective fiction about the first gay US President.

Alain and Byrne have been coming to France since they met, and in 1989 bought a house in the Perigord, using it for vacations and as a base from which to source antiques for Alain’s gallery. In 1999 they moved from that house to La Millasserie, continuing to vacation there as well as source antiques. In 2008 the moved permanently to France and opened the B&B. As they say, “we have been fortunate to have become a popular destination for guests from The US, the UK, Europe, and beyond. In the spirit of Gay hospitality we welcome gay and gay-friendly guests to La Millasserie.
