Meet Sohail Justin Akhavein. He’s a hairy, tatted-up, 30-year-old from Minneapolis with a, ahem, playful Instagram account:

Like many of us, he has a thing for unicorns:

A while ago, his mom found a unicorn mirror at an estate sale. Knowing her son’s passion for the mythical horned beasts, she bought it for him.

After seeing the mirror, Sohail’s sister became jealous and wanted one for herself. So Mom decided to have another mirror commissioned for her daughter.

She asked Sohail to text her some photos of mirror to give to the woodworker. When he didn’t respond fast enough, she took matters into her own hands… by going to his Instagram page and grabbing the photos from there.

“I was forced to use the only photos of the mirror I could find,” she texted him, “which were your gay smut photos.”

But it doesn’t stop there. After sending the pics to the carpenter, Mom got a response she wasn’t expecting.

“He asked if part of his payment can be the man in the photos,” she revealed. “The gays are everywhere!”

Sohail tells Buzzfeed he and his parents have a great, loving relationship he has with his parents and that he couldn’t ask for a better family.

“I’ve never taken their acceptance, warmth, love, and sass for granted,” he says, “because I am well aware of many members of our greater queer community may struggle to navigate their personal expression of queerness on a platform their parents may have access to, let alone possibly not having direct access to those four things listed above.”
